Peter was born in Jos, Plateau State of Nigeria on April 6, 1958 and started is primary education at St Thomas Catholic School Offa, Kwara State in 1965. He obtained his First School leaving Certificate in 1971 whilst proceeding to Oyun Baptist High School, Ijagbo Kwara State in the same year.
He obtained his secondary School leaving Certificate in 1977 and proceeded to the University of Benin to study Law which he completed and obtained his Bachelor of Law degree (LL.B) in 1984. In 1985, he finished his law school and became a Barrister at Law (B.L)
To cap his educational pursuit, he proceeded to the Lagos State University in the year 2000 and obtained his Master at Law (LL.M) degree.
His working experience started in 1985 with the Lagos State Ministry of Justice Alausa in Ikeja where he was for a year before moving to Adedeji Adekoya & Company in 1986 and worked for four years.
In 1990 he established his own legal firm – Peter Ilegogie & Company which he runs till date although in 2006 he jointly managed the law firm of Okhai Akhigbe & Co (Legal Practitioners) for a period of two years.
He is a member of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Listed in the Matindale Hubbel International Law Directory of Lawyers and has the professional honor of Notary Public for Nigeria.
Barrister Peter Ilegogie is married to Barrister Tina Omosi Ilegogie and are both blessed with four lovely children.
